Then, with only six years (born 1937), the young Simeon becomes king of the Bulgarians.<br \/>\nYears later, when part of the family was killed by the communists, he was forced into exile. In September 1946, he left Sofia and headed for Istanbul, then passed through Egypt, where he met his maternal grandparents, kings of Italy, also in exile there, and, finally, he went to Spain, where the Bulgarian royal family was established to rebuild itself.<br \/>\nAfter the fall of the Berlin wall, Sime\u00e3o II, who had never lost hope, returned to his country, fifty years after being forced to abandon it.
