Raimundo Quintal

Raimundo Quintal (Funchal, 1954). Graduate and Doctor of geography by Universidade de Lisboa. Author of several books and numerous articles in the areas of ecology, biogeography and environmental education. Author and director of documentaries on natural and cultural heritage, exhibited both in national and international television. Founding partner and member of the board of directors of the Association of Friends of Ecological Park of Funchal. Member of the Advisory Board of «Seacology Foundation», based in Berkeley (EUA). Councillor for environment, education and science of the Municipality of Funchal, from January 1994 to January 2002. Among the projects for conservation of nature, requalification of the landscape and environmental education that he directed, the creation of Ecological Park of Funchal and the Golden Award of the Cidades e Vilas Floridas of Europe stand out.
