Joaquim Chito Rodrigues

Joaquim Chito Rodrigues was born in Castelo Branco, on March 13, 1935.

He finished the Army School course with the highest rank of the Infantry Weapon in 1956. He served the Army in Africa (Angola), America (Brazil), Europe (NATO) and Asia (Macao). In Portugal, he served on the continent and Madeira. In 1997, he finished his active military career, with the position of general, in the role of director of the Institute of Higher Military Studies.

He was president of the Superior Council of Discipline of the Army between December 1999 and March 2000.

He was awarded several prizes, including the Distinguished Campaign Service Medal in and the Grand Cross of Military Merit.
