Carlos Dugos was born in Lisbon, in 1942.
In 1958 he moved to Lourenço Marques, then the capital of Mozambique, and returned to Portugal in 1967.
Between 1962 and 1974 he worked as a journalist in Mozambique, Republic of South Africa and Portugal.
Since 1974 he devoted himself exclusively to painting, an activity he has been practicing continuously from 1958 to the present.
He made dozens of individual exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, with graphic albums dedicated to four of his work cycles.
Since 1976 he has dedicated himself to the study of Western metaphysics with a particular focus on symbolic issues.
In this context, various institutions have invited him to give lectures and talks.
