This book brings together a selection of photos of the artistic work of the author João Daniel, revealing to the reader various details, through images, which are part of the Abbey of Santa María de Alcobaça, thus allowing to be visible its beauty and history. The book is the result of the author’s photographic passion and dedication: for 35 years (1975 to 2010) he captured images of the rare beauty of the convent, unique moments portrayed in the beautiful images which are part of this work. The Abbey of Santa María de Alcobaça is part of the Cistercian work embodied in the construction of more than three hundred convents in Europe and this book, now published, will continue to be an identity example of this great Cistercian work.
