Originally released in 1909, this Brazilian historiography classic had a second edition only in 1945, and then remained more than half a century outside the bookstores. This book by Manuel de Oliveira Lima is used as the basis for carrying out period studies, including novels, films, plays and television series, since it is the most complete and detailed piece of work about the arrival of the royal family in Brazil, in 1808 , and the changes this caused in the country’s history.
