Description
Through the construction of José do Canto Botanical Garden, the dream of a man who loved plants and knew in depth the secrets of botany was fulfilled.
José do Canto (1820-1898) had contacts with botanical gardens, naturalists and nurseries around the world, buying, selling and exchanging plants.
During the 50s of the 19th century, his garden became the site of Santana: an extraordinary space for acclimatization for thousands of species.
