Description
In order that Nunes da Cunha and successors always feel a great pride in belonging to the Torriense nobility and descending from the plethora of noble knights of the Royal House and the Order of Christ that gave rise to them, many of them had to sacrifice their own lives on the road to India and in maritime combats, such as in Alcacer-Quebir and other battles, fighting in Brazil to avoid the Dutch occupation, in La Lyz in World War I, in Angola, Guinea or in Mozambique, where they proudly defended great causes of the Portuguese Homeland that the History of Portugal will never forget. As Armando de Mattos said in 1934, this work also symbolizes the recognition of a nation towards a family that distinguished itself and made Portugal’s name great!
